The Minnesota Grit List is an initiative of Wallin Education Partners. "The list highlights students and professionals who have overcome barriers to reach success in STEM and HELP industries."

Contracted for logo and header, this project was challenging. How do you represent something like grit? I chose to use limited imagery and focus on color and type. Using warmer colors, the designs evoke intensity and fiery drive. The strong, vertical typeface creates long lines without being heavy or overbearing. Finally, the barbell (making its appearance in the headers) is the only literal representation of strength and acts more as a divider than as the subject of the header.
